New to ebooks? Change your life in a few
minutes, right now, for free.
You can read ebooks anywhere on any device with a variety
of free apps, in which you can change font size, line spacings,
screen color and lighting (and turn off the cute but annoying
page turn graphics).
Re-discover reading, at a whole new level.
You will read faster and enjoy reading more than ever.
Although I have owned various Nook and Kindle ereaders,
and there are plenty of tablets and ereaders out there. I have
found my phone to be the most convenient.
I reluctantly swtiched to ebooks years ago because I was
buying about two hardcovers a week and ebooks were
cheaper, not to mention less bulky. Also, I love to read in bed
and that’s awkward no matter what kind of light you have.
Ironically, I didn’t save so much because I read more books —
you can read ebooks twice as fast as paper books. And
the adjustable screen lighting is perfect for reading in bed,
as well as anywhere else.
You can keep a thousand books on your device with less than
1 GB of storage. For example, my book is about 350 pages in
paper, and less than 1 MB in ebook form.
You can buy ebooks online at your favorite seller. Your local
public library may have titles to loan online.
So here’s how to get started.
Go to the Google Play store (Android) or Apple Books in their
app store, and download a free app. For Androids there are
a variety of apps.
Google Play books is a good app linked to their bookstore,
with the essential features but not as versatile as the Barnes
and Noble Nook app or Kindle. Kindle only works with Kindle
format files (just shop books on Amazon). Everyone else uses
the .epub format.
Install a reader app on your device before downloading a
book file.
Grab an ebook from your vendor, and take a minute to try
out the settings. Best idea: try my ebook! Relax and enjoy
reading more than ever.
